How to perform KYC Verification on Extension

What is KYC?

Know Your Customer aka KYC means collecting certain information from customers to confirm their identities and to comply with any regulatory requirements. Identity verification requires information that could be whatever-document-to-prove-your-identity, like a valid ID card, passport

This requirement depends on the Launchpad and is due to national and/or international regulations that project this functionality in the case the Launchpad project needs it.

Preparing for the KYC process

To use the KYC feature, you will need to prepare the following necessary things below:

  1. Identification documents, such as National Identity Card or Passport. You must be at least 18 years old.

  2. Register to obtain an ID on OneID. You can find the instructions for registering OneID here.

  3. Prepare 25 C98 VRC25 or C98 BEP20 to pay the KYC fee. Note that if you choose to pay with C98 BEP20 (BNB Smart Chain), you must also prepare a small amount of BNB to cover the gas fee.

Important Note

  1. Please note that once you pay the KYC fee (25 C98), you will have 3 attempts. If you fail all 3, you must repay the fee to resubmit KYC.

  2. If you have not registered any ID on OneID, you will not be able to access the KYC page.

  3. Your KYC data will be linked and stored with the corresponding ID. If your ID is transferred to someone else and the recipient claims ownership through Reclaim Permission, your KYC data will be removed. You will need to restart the KYC process from the beginning.

  4. KYC is not supported in some regions/countries due to legal and regulatory restrictions. Your document will be rejected if your country is on the list of restricted countries. Here is the list of restricted countries: Afghanistan, American Samoa, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Balkans , Belarus, Belize, Burma, Burundi, Central African Republic, China, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Ethiopia, Fiji, Guam, Guinée, Guinée-Bissau, Haïti, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Magnitsky, Mali, Moldova, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Palau, Palestine, Panama, Russia, Samoa, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, The Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks And Caicos Islands, Ukraine , United States of America and its territories (American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands), Vanuatu, Venezuela, Yemen and Zimbabwe.

KYC Process

Step 1: Access https://kyc.oneid.xyz/ and click No Wallet at the top corner to connect the wallet used to pay the KYC fee;

Step 2: At the middle of the page, click Select Wallet/Connect Wallet and choose a wallet containing your registered ID;

You can select the ID for KYC on one wallet and use another wallet to pay the KYC fee.

Step 3: Select the ID you want to KYC;

You can also check the status of each OneID right this interface:

  1. Not Yet KYC: No action has been taken yet on this ID.

  2. Payment Processing: The payment has already been submitted and is awaiting verification from the server. This process may take about 2 minutes

  3. Payment Completed - Waiting for KYC: KYC payment has been verified, now you can proceed with KYC on Synaps.

  4. Waiting For Approval: The ID information has been submitted for KYC to Synaps and is waiting for verification.

  5. KYC Failed: The KYC verification for this ID has failed .

  6. KYC Verified: The ID has been successfully KYC-ed

Step 4: Read carefully the warning and tick to confirm that you already understood the mentioned warning. Click Approve C98 to start the payment process.

Step 5: You need to approve Coin98 KYC to spend your 25 C98 tokens then click Confirm to pay the KYC fee;

Step 6: After the payment is successful, click Continue KYC;

After successful payment, the status of KYC will be changed to Payment Processing. Please wait approximately 2 minutes for the server to verify the transaction.

Step 7: After the Server verifies your payment => fill out the following information for the initial verification and click Request KYC;

  1. Nationality

  2. Document Type

  3. Document Number

Note: If your document is not eligible, such as being already used for another OneID, you will not be able to proceed.

Step 8: Verify your identity on Synaps by clicking Start Verification. The Synaps flow consists of three steps below:

8.1 Scan your face. You can scan directly on your PC or snap with your smartphone;

8.2 Submit your documents;

  1. Select your Nationality

  1. Select Document Type and scan your document (Passport and National ID are accepted).

You can upload the available documents on your PC or use the linked mobile to take and submit photos to verify your identity. Here are instructions to upload your documents via Mobile.

a. Click on Continue on phone => click Get secure link and use your phone to scan the QR.

b. Enable your camera permissions => Take and submit your identity document (both the front and back of your card)

8.3 Enter your email to receive the verification code.

Step 9: Wait a few seconds for your PC to upload information, and check your KYC status.
