Why did I recover a wallet but my balance shows 0 and the addresses are changed?

First, if you encounter this situation while using Passphrase, try to use Private Key to recover the wallet because one Passphrase will be able to generate many private keys -> multiple wallet addresses. If this method still does not work, you can refer to the following ways:

1. The passphrase/ private key wasn't correctly input.

It's possible that the passphrases/ private keys have missing letters or typos. Check to see if you entered anything incorrectly.

2. The passphrase/ private key was correctly input but in the wrong order.

Please keep in mind that different passphrase orders will result in different wallets. Make sure the seed phrase is entered in the correct order.

3. The passphrase/ private key wasn't correctly written down originally

The passphrase/private key wasn't written down correctly the first time. In this case, we can't assist you to retrieve your wallet because we don't have access to or saving your passphrase or private key.

4. The passphrase is not in a right standard

Coin98 Super App supports two standards for each wallet. If you did not choose the right standard that the initial wallet belongs to, it cannot be properly recovered.

For example:

Bitcoin Wallet:

  • Legacy Address: Start the address range with the number “1”, eg 1A1Zc0dA…, commonly supported by exchanges.

  • Bech32 Address: Start the address range with “bc1”, for example bc1zahd…, usually supported by non-custodial crypto wallets like Trust Wallet,... From Coin98 Super App version 10.2, the address Bech32 wallet has been improved by Coin98 Super App, unchanged after each transaction.

Coin98 Super App encourages users to use Bech32 wallet address to enjoy cheaper transaction costs, faster transaction speed than Legacy wallet address.

Solana Wallet:

  • New Standard is an import option if you have created a new standard wallet on Coin98 Super App before. It's also an improved option that allows users to restore Phantom/ Sollet wallets while keeping the old wallet address format.

  • Old Standard is an import option for old standard wallets created on Coin98 Super App. If you have used the new standard, you can ignore this standard.

Celo, Avalanche (C-chain), Evmos, Tomo Chain Wallet (EVM blockchains):

  • New Standard is the import option if you have created a new standard wallet on Coin98 Super App before. In this standard, EVM's addresses will have the same wallet address as the Ethereum wallet.

  • Old Standard is an import option for old standard wallets created on Coin98 Super App. If you have used the new standard, you can ignore this standard.
